About Shawn J. Ransom

Mr. Shawn J. Ransom, MDiv, CPLC is a respected millennial professional who specializes in Media, Ministry & Motivation.  A proud graduate of South Eastern High School in Detroit, Shawn lives up to the school’s famous quote that "Success is what happens when Preparation meets Opportunity."

As an adolescent, his grandmother made sure he was involved in quite a few after-school programs, which in turn made Shawn a "Jack of all trades" with lots of opportunities.  Throughout the years he has established great skills in leadership, networking, and creativity.

While serving active duty in the United States Navy, both overseas and in Washington D.C., Shawn was tasked with the duty of being one of the designated speakers for the "All Hands Calls" (full base meetings).  He really enjoyed this duty and has spoken publicly in front of audiences large as 5,000 people to include Admirals/Generals, National Secretaries, and even former United States President Obama.

Food for thought…

I often ask people are you watching closely… Its more of a rhetorical question and a play on words. If you focus too hard you’ll develop tunnel vision and miss out on the big picture. So in fact, the closer you look the less you’ll see.

- Shawn J. Ransom

In 2016, Shawn took his passion for public speaking and decided to become a Certified Life Coach as well as a Media Consultant to further help people. In 2019 he also answered his called to ministry and was licensed as a Minister of The Gospel and certified as a Police Chaplain. Currently Shawn is working toward becoming a board certified Christian Counselor.

Shawn has been featured on panels, podcasts, and radio shows around the Midwest, D.C. and Atlanta areas. Mr. Ransom was also one of the nominees at SpeakerCon 2019 for Faith-Based Speaker of the Year and a Who’s Who In Black Detroit Top 100 CEO Honorees.

Decorated U.S. Navy veteran, former President of U.S. 7th Fleet Junior Sailor Association, former Midwest Regional Chaplain of Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity Inc. and has achieved the rank of Captain with the International Police & Fire Chaplain Association.
