People Don't Socialize, They Social Media
I'd rather inbox you
That way, if you wait days to reply it will build up my longing to speak to you again.
I'd rather post it on your wall.
That way, EVERYBODY can see how I feel about you.
I'd rather write a blog.
That way, you will always have it for reference.
I'd rather invite you through my event page.
That way, if you decide not to attend, it wont be an IMMEDIATE slap in the face.
The truth really is, I dont know how to communicate with you any longer.
Its more difficult to speak when I have to look at your facial expressions.
Judgement comes slower on social networks... that dont work, or never even force us to make an effort.
With this its effortless; the sweeping strokes of keys coupled with a few smilies & an 'lol' here & there.
We've become impaired.
Using digital media as a crutch to associate ourselves with each other.
Stalking without the fear of being found out.
Creating without the judgement of ALL of those involved; because we all know there is NO 'dislike' button.
We've grown weak, intolerant, insecure, hateful...
& we hide behind usernames, profile pictures, posts...
Who are we really?
People, who before the birth of the 'all seeing I' were friends, lovers, co-workers...
Now we cant even have dinner without looking down at our phones... at least twice.
Since when was this the end all?
[We dont stop associating with each other, we BLOCK your ass!]
Since when did malls & public places of business become obsolete?
[We dont shop, we ORDER.]
Since when did the next piece of gossip become more important than a human life?
[We dont concentrate while driving, we TEXT.]
Since when is it more appropriate to communicate with characters instead of character?
[We dont visit, we FACEBOOK.]
...............when did it become fashionable to use NOUNS as VERBS?
Whatever happened to shaking hands & introducing ourselves in public.
It seems if you dont have an account youre out of the loop.
Never heard of Snapchat?
You must live under a rock...
Couldnt they have set up an internet connection under there?

Well, at least you know what a hash-tag is used for, right?

Our language has become diluted with abbreviations.
lmao, kmsl, lol, ijs, idk, ily...etc, etc, etc.
And HOLD THE PRESSES if we mistake a 😂 for a 😍while we're typing.
We change relationship statuses like underwear.
We change profile pictures like we change significant others.
Is ANYTHING sacred?
And everybody wants to know why Jasmine would rather tweet than eat dinner with her family...
Im guilty, but Im aware. I Facebook, but I am NOT Facebook.
If people followed people in real life they'd get jail time, but now its fashionable to give out personal information & hope that people will be their friend.
No one is secure
No one is content
Everyone is connected
but No one is...
